Myles was born and raised in Perth Western Australia. He studied MusicalTheatre at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA)graduating in 1997, before moving to Sydney where he began a career as an actor, working on stage in television and in films. It wasn't long however before he was drawn to the other side of the camera, and he began directing and editing a number of self funded short-films and animations.
In 2004 Myles began directing and editing commercials for some ofAustralia’s leading Advertising Agencies and Clients including, XXXX Beer,Bankwest, Hyundai, Paspaley Pearls, Telstra, Nike, Asics, Adidas,Optus, StGeorge Bank, Vodafone, Suncorp and Luxottica. He has directed 20 music videos, for which he has received back to back nominations for best music video at the CMAA Awards in 2008 - 2011.
In 2005 he was awarded an AFC internship as Darren Ashton’s Director’ sattachment on the feature film “Razzle Dazzle”, and in 2010 he completed his first 1 hour documentary "A Very Short War" which premiered on TheHistory Channel on ANZAC Day 2010.
Myles has directed many short form television shows for The Walt DisneyCompany, and more recently directed the short films "Stockholm" and“Dreamweaver,” which have played at festivals around the world.
With a background in performance Myles works very well with actors and has worked with numerous Australian sporting celebrities. His editing skills and knowledge of post production techniques makes him well suited to visual effects driven projects. His style is very fresh and modern and carries a unique sense of rhythm, with strong connection to story.
